From Experiment to International Newcomer!
The Experiment, Good Weather Forecast appears to be working. Almost immediately after their formation, in February 2008, they had amazing success. At their first concert, the six boys won the Rock without Limits Newcomer Award in Germany. Next up were appearances in whole Europe playing alongside giants such as Switchfoot, Skillet, Toby Mac, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman and many other international artists, in front of audiences of up to 13,000.
Since then the Band has more than 400 live concerts behind them and have sold more than 20 000 recordings. Their fan-base grows daily with over a quarter of a million visits to their myspace site and more than 20000 followers on Facebook.
2011 saw their success continue with David Award for Best Newcomer of 2011. The David Award is the most renowned prize in the German Christian Music scene.
The year also saw the band playing alongside four-time Grammy award winners Toby Mac, the current Grammy award winners Switchfoot, the former Korn guitarist Brian Head Welch in a tour schedule spread throughout Europe. They also had the honour of being the main stage opening act at the Flevo Festival in Holland, the best-known Christian music festival in Europe.
The year saw them performing in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands, Czech Republic and Croatia.
In the first half of the year 2012 Good Weather Forecast was back in the studio, working on their new longplayer „Dreamcity“. The band would work with together with their usual producer and friend Daniel Konold, but there was also more to come: the longplayer has been mixed by the the Grammy winning mixing engineer J.R. McNelly and LZ7 from the United Kingdom joined GWF on the song „Club Awakening“. Furthermore the album is distributed by the biggest german speaking publicer in the CCM.
Besides working on „Dreamcity“ the band is playing various shows in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Belgium, Estonia and Finland with bands like Newsboys, Casting Crowns, Thousand Foot Krutch, Gungor and many more. In November 2012 Good Weather Forecast played in front of a 12,000 people crowd at the finnish festival „Maata Näkyvissä“. While touring, the band worked on various new Singles. In 2014 GWF's new Single was released on iTunes and Amazon as a charity project supporting the organization W.E.G . GWF continues touring worldwide like Australia and Israel. Being signed by the English Label "Light" the band releases the new album "We Glow" in 2015. Its singles "Citylights" and "You Are" appearenced in the Top 30 iTunes Charts and were played by many radio stations in Germany.
